A member of the National Energy Council (DEN), Satya Widya Yudha, highlighted the importance for the Indonesian government to diversify the country’s suppliers of crude oil, fuel, and gas amid uncertainties from the Iran vs US war. Currently, DEN assesses that Indonesia’s operational reserves of fuel and gas are still very good, exceeding 23-28 days, with supplies remaining smooth and undisturbed. Domestically, efforts to increase oil and gas production through easing upstream oil and gas investments, reactivating idle wells, and managing community wells are strategies to strengthen Indonesia’s energy resilience.
