Video: Indonesia's Economy Grows 5.5% - Strait of Hormuz Triggers Global Food Crisis
Indonesia’s economic growth maintained a solid performance throughout 2025, achieving 5.11%, far exceeding the global average growth of around 2.6% to 3.3%, according to records from the IMF, OECD, and World Bank. Meanwhile, the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) has warned that prolonged disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz could trigger a global food catastrophe. This is due to the interruption of energy and fertiliser shipments, which are crucial for agricultural production.
