Video: Indonesian DPR Affirms Acquittal Verdict for Amsal Cannot Be Appealed

Videographer Amsal Sitepu has been acquitted. Chairman of Commission III, Habiburokhman, stated that the Public Prosecutors from the Karo District Prosecutor’s Office cannot file an appeal against the acquittal verdict. This conclusion was reached during the audience meeting of Commission III of the DPR with the North Sumatra High Prosecutor’s Office and the Karo District Prosecutor’s Office at the Senayan parliamentary complex in Jakarta last Thursday. In addition to affirming that Amsal’s acquittal cannot be appealed, Commission III also urged an evaluation of the Karo District Prosecutor’s Office in the aftermath of the Amsal case.
