Video Goes Viral of Passenger Falling from Platform onto Tracks at Manggarai Station Before Train Passes

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - A female passenger fell from a platform onto the tracks at Manggarai Station, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (13/5/2026) afternoon.

KAI Commuter Public Relations Manager Leza Arlan said that the passenger had just disembarked from a Cikarang Line train and was about to move to another platform when the incident occurred.

“While walking towards the lift, the passenger suddenly lost her balance and fell onto track 3,” Leza said in a written statement on Friday (15/5/2026).

After that, the victim was taken to the health centre for examination. From the initial examination, the victim complained of pain in her right ribs.

The officers then referred the victim to PGI Cikini Hospital, Central Jakarta, for further treatment.

Regarding this incident, Leza appealed to all passengers to remain cautious when in the station area, especially when the station is crowded.

“Always be careful when in the station area and pay attention to safety, especially when walking on the platform. Don’t rush, stay focused by not using mobile phones and follow the instructions from officers,” he said.

The incident went viral on social media after a video of the incident was uploaded to the TikTok account @uttuy.

Shortly after, a long-distance train passed on the track where the woman fell.
