Staf Ahli Menteri Bidang Transformasi Digital & Hubungan Antarlembaga Kemenko Pangan, Bara Krishna Hasibuan, expressed the government’s optimism in promoting the expansion of national food self-sufficiency. After achieving rice self-sufficiency, the government is pursuing production of strategic foods, including soybeans, which still depend on imported supplies. In addition, the government is enhancing the food supply chain, including the distribution of fertiliser and food raw materials such as sulphur, which have been disrupted by war. Meanwhile, regarding weather and climate changes that affect local food production, the government is also taking anticipatory measures and coordinating to maintain food production.
