Video: Energy-Efficient Trucks - European EVs Ready to Support Indonesia's Mining Business

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Swedish heavy-duty truck manufacturer, Volvo Trucks International, has made Indonesia one of its operational countries for more than 40 years. Senior Vice President of Volvo Trucks International, Per-Erik Lindström, stated that Volvo Trucks has grown alongside and contributed to the development of Indonesian society, driving infrastructure development, particularly in the mining sector, mainly coal, nickel, and cobalt. Volvo Trucks sees the prospects for the heavy vehicle business development in Indonesia in line with the strengthening of trade cooperation between Indonesia and the European Union through the IEU-CEPA (Indonesia-European Union Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement). It is hoped that this will increase competition for European products in Indonesia and vice versa, one of which is through the development of “sustainable transport solutions” via vehicles with “combustion technology” that can improve fuel efficiency up to electric vehicles.
