Video: DPR Says Stable Politics a Guarantee for Foreign Investment to Enter Indonesia
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Mukhamad Misbakhun, chair of Commission XI of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), urged the Indonesian government to pursue efforts to attract investment from both domestic and foreign sources as a driver of economic growth and job creation.
One of the challenges for Indonesia in attracting foreign investment is a conducive investment climate related to the certainty of law enforcement, political stability, and fiscal incentives.
Currently Misbakhun says that Indonesia’s political stability remains well maintained, and the government has also affirmed its commitment to addressing various investment obstacles as a guarantee for investment in Indonesia.
Commission XI has also focused on addressing volatility in Indonesia’s capital market related to the assessments by rating agencies such as MSCI and Moody’s. Therefore, the DPR urges the role of authorities and related bodies in handling these sentiments to help restore investor confidence in the Indonesian market.
