Video: DPR Demands BI's Commitment, Rupiah Must Return to Rp16,500 per US dollar

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Eleventh Commission of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI) is pressing Bank Indonesia to restore the rupiah’s exchange rate to the level of Rp16,500 per US dollar, in line with macroeconomic assumptions in the 2026 state budget (APBN 2026). The Eleventh Commission says the President’s remark that ‘rural people do not use dollars’ is aimed at calming the public amid pressures on the rupiah.
