Video: DEN Meeting, Bahlil Guarantees Fuel Stock Security and Plans E50 Development

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, Bahlil Lahadali, announced the results of the first session of the National Energy Council (DEN) 2026, held at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta, on Thursday, 17 September 2026.

This inaugural DEN session for 2026 discussed strategic steps to maintain energy security amidst global geopolitical uncertainty. The government ensures that energy availability remains stable, with current fuel stocks and national reserves sitting at approximately 18 to 20 days. Furthermore, the government will push for the development of B50 and E50 biofuels to reduce fuel imports.

The government also intends to encourage increased national oil and gas exploration and the progress of the Oil and Gas Bill, which includes plans for the formation of a Special Oil and Gas Business Entity (BUK Migas) that would report directly to the President.
