Video: Danantara Auctions Waste-to-Energy Projects - South Korea's Economy Surges

The Danantara Investment Management Agency is preparing to auction six strategic national projects for processing waste into electrical energy in mid-2026. These projects are focused on urban areas with large waste volumes reaching 1,000 tonnes per day to achieve the target of 30 Waste-to-Energy Facilities (PSEF) by 2029. Meanwhile, South Korea’s economy recorded extraordinary growth in the first quarter of 2026, surpassing all analyst estimates. This growth is the fastest since mid-2020, driven by a surge in global demand for semiconductors for artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.
