Video: Cutting LPG Imports, Danantara Supports Coal-to-Gas Project
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Chair of DPR RI Commission XII, Bambang Patijaya, has assured that Commission XII supports the development of downstream and industrialisation projects as a serious government step to add value to the domestic industry, including in the energy sector. Downstream and industrialisation in the energy sector will strengthen energy resilience, where energy investments amid the surge in crude oil prices burden the state budget. Through the development of electrical vehicle (EV) battery factories and electric vehicles, fuel use can be reduced, up to the development of B50 biofuel which can suppress diesel consumption and imports. In addition, support for downstream investment from Danantara can meet the financing needs of new renewable energy projects such as the coal-to-dimethyl ether (DME) hilirisation project by PTBA, which also becomes an opportunity for utilising clean gas from coal that can cut LPG imports.
