Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – The Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (KemenPAN-RB) has noted that 160,000 State Civil Apparatus (ASN) will retire in 2025. This situation signals opportunities for the recruitment and selection of Candidate Civil Servants (CPNS) in 2026.

The Deputy for Human Resources in the Apparatus of KemenPAN-RB, Aba Subagja, stated that the need to add ASN continues, given that around 160,000 ASN retire every year. However, the plan for CPNS selection to fill positions left vacant by retiring ASN is also based on the availability of budget from the Ministry of Finance.

Currently, there are 6.5 million ASN, and from this number, there is a surplus of ASN in 2024, so it is necessary to review which positions require additional ASN. This is needed to optimise the performance of public services.
