Video: Cisadane River Polluted with Pesticides, BBWS Takes Decisive Action
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The government continues to encourage efforts to anticipate the issue of flooding, which has been a long-standing problem in Indonesia, including through river rehabilitation and restoration as well as the construction of river embankments.
The Head of the Ciliwung-Cisadane River Basin Authority (BBWS) of the Ministry of Public Works, David Marpaung, stated that in order to maintain the river flow so that it can accommodate the maximum water discharge, the river body, riverbanks and riverbanks must be free from settlements. Therefore, efforts are being made to regulate settlements and buildings in the river basin area.
In addition, the Ciliwung-Cisadane BBWS is also handling the issue of river pollution, such as the case of pesticide liquid flowing into the Jeletreng River, a tributary of the Cisadane River, in South Tangerang due to a fire at the PT Biotek Saranatama building.
What are the efforts of the BBWS in maintaining the flow of the Ciliwung-Cisadane River?
