The Indonesian tyre market is being enlivened by Chinese manufacturer Sailun, which has just built a factory worth Rp 4.25 trillion in Demak, Java, in January 2026. Director of Sales & Marketing at PT Sailun Tire Indonesia, Eko Supriyatin, stated that Sailun has begun marketing its flagship products, namely Sailun, RoadX, Blackhawk, and Maxam tyres, which have received positive responses from the market with continuously rising demand. Sailun targets radial tyre production for passenger cars (PCR) with a capacity of 6 million tonnes per year, bus and truck (TBR) at 1 million per year, off-the-road equipment (OTR) at 40,000 tonnes per year, and tyre components up to 1.5 million units per year. For the first phase, the target production achievable by 2027 could reach 50% of the overall target.
