Video: Challenges in Helping Farmers Utilise Drone Technology

The development of digital technology is driving the use of advanced solutions in the agricultural sector, including drone technology, to increase efficiency and operational capacity for farmers, thereby boosting agricultural productivity.

DJI Agriculture, a drone solution provider, designs drones capable of assisting farmers with various activities, ranging from seed and fertiliser spreading to agricultural land mapping.

Dede Supriatna, Business Development at DJI Agriculture, noted that the adoption of drone technology continues to grow, particularly for planting and maintenance activities. Although the adoption of drone technology is still hindered by limited access to information, especially for farmers in remote areas, DJI Agriculture is continuously promoting farmer education to increase awareness of drone utility.

Currently, the majority of farmers in Java, Kalimantan, and Sumatra are familiar with and utilise drone technology, presenting opportunities for expansion into Eastern Indonesia. Additionally, drones can be utilised to assist in logistics distribution during forest and land fire suppression processes.
