Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – CNBC Indonesia, in partnership with the Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS), is organising Jogja Financial Festival 2026 on 22-23 May 2026, featuring a financial festival, business talks, educational classes, a comedy live show, an exhibition, a concert, and a career corner.
Deputy Minister of Communications and Digital Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia, Nezar Patria, at Jogja Financial Festival 2026, outlined the government’s strategy to push digital transformation as a pillar of national economic growth. Nezar said Indonesia’s digital transformation is underpinned by digital infrastructure such as telecommunications networks and internet services, with penetration reaching 86% and used to support digital economic transactions. However, challenges related to cyber attacks and digital crime remain a hurdle for Indonesia’s digital transformation in the era of Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Meanwhile, Adi Budiarso, Executive Director for the Supervision of Technology Innovation in the Financial Sector, Digital Financial Assets, and Crypto Assets (ADK IAKD) at OJK, explained how digital transformation is becoming the new economy for Indonesia, including in the financial and banking sectors and up to digital financial assets such as crypto assets.
Specifically for digital financial assets such as crypto, the number of trading accounts has surpassed 21 million, so OJK continues to push the development and strengthening of the digital assets sector as part of investment assets.
