Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Moeldoko, Chairman of the Indonesian Electric Vehicle Industry Association (Periklindo), fully supports the government’s plan to provide electric vehicle incentives for 200,000 motorcycles and cars by 1 June 2026.

Moeldoko stressed the importance of effective programme promotion to ensure smooth implementation and maximum subsidy uptake. He also noted that the incentives must target micro, small, and medium enterprises (UMKM) and ride-hailing drivers, rather than affluent citizens.

Furthermore, the industry requires regulatory certainty and political and economic stability to spur EV investment. Additionally, measures to boost public purchasing power are needed to strengthen the national EV ecosystem.
