Video: Business Owners Request Long-Distance Transport Over 1,000 KM via Sea

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Chairman of the Indonesian Logistics Association (ALI), Mahendra Rianto, has called for government support to ensure the security of fuel stocks, distribution, and domestic price stability amid the Iran vs. US-Israel conflict.

ALI states that fuel is a major component in the transportation system, which will significantly impact logistics costs and the business world. Furthermore, ALI proposes developing sea transport for long-distance logistics over 1,000 km, related to Indonesia’s geographical position as an archipelago, making land logistics costs very expensive.

On the other hand, business actors are pushing for the role of financial institutions in channelling financing to the logistics sector with affordable interest rates, which is important for maintaining supply chain continuity amid uncertainties.
