Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – CNBC Indonesia, together with the Deposit Insurance Agency (LPS), organised the Jogja Financial Festival 2026 on 22-23 May 2026, featuring a financial festival, business talks, educational classes, a comedy live show, exhibitions, a concert and a career corner.

Jogja Financial Festival 2026 hosted a dialogue with the leaders of national banks to discuss the banking sector’s role in Indonesia’s economy. PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) Chief Executive Hery Gunardi outlined the bank’s role as a public depository and lender, and explained how the banking industry is evolving in the era of digitalisation to drive business transformation to meet customers’ needs.

At BRI, digitalisation through BRImo has spurred daily transactions to around Rp32 trillion. Meanwhile, PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) (BBTN) Chief Executive Nixon LP Napitupulu highlighted how banking expands services to the unbanked through the housing sector via subsidised mortgage (KPR Subsidised) to help low-income households (MBR), with low interest rates and a modest down payment.

From PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BRIS), Chief Executive Anggoro Eko Cahyo noted the role of Islamic banking in helping MSMEs advance, emphasising that the banking industry guides growth while Islamic banking contributes to a fairer, more transparent and sustainable economy.

On the international front, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) Director of Treasury & International Banking Abu Santosa Sudradjat outlined how national banks extend services abroad, with BNI operating 10 branches in eight countries as gateways for domestic enterprises seeking to expand internationally.

From PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI), Chief Financial & Strategy Officer Novita Widya Anggraini highlighted the strength of BMRI with 39 million customers nationwide, served via 1,200 branches and online services including Livin’ by Mandiri and Kopra by Mandiri.
