CNBC Indonesia held the CNBC Indonesia Awards 2026: Best Beauty & Clinic to recognise businesses and industries in the beauty and clinic sectors that have recorded positive performance and contributed to Indonesia’s economic development.

BPOM head Prof. Taruna Ikrar congratulated the award recipients. He said the recognition aligns with BPOM’s commitment to strengthening innovation, product quality and safety, and the competitiveness of Indonesia’s cosmetics industry.

BPOM has five roles in the cosmetics industry: providing regulatory certainty, conducting oversight, building capacity, improving maturity in Good Cosmetic Manufacturing Practices (CPKB), and supporting micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

BPOM is committed to establishing a regulatory system that protects consumers while encouraging the growth of the cosmetics industry, through oversight both before and during the circulation of beauty-care products. It also takes part in regulatory harmonisation through the ASEAN Cosmetic Committee (ACC) and the ASEAN Cosmetic Directive (ACD).

The agency is also promoting literacy and education to help consumers make informed choices about safe cosmetics. It is strengthening collaboration among academia, business and government, enabling universities to develop research with industry and MSMEs and produce competitive, safe and high-quality cosmetic innovations that can contribute to Indonesia’s economy.

The full keynote speech by BPOM head Prof. Taruna Ikrar was delivered at the CNBC Indonesia Awards 2026: Best Beauty & Clinic on Wednesday, 28 October 2026.
