Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — CNBC Indonesia, in collaboration with the Deposit Insurance Agency (LPS), will host Jogja Financial Festival 2026 on 22-23 May 2026, featuring a financial festival, business talks, educational classes, a comedy live show, exhibitions, concerts and a career corner. Jogja Financial Festival 2026 will host dialogues with leaders of national banks to discuss how banks play a role in Indonesia’s economy. Hery Gunardi, President Director of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI), outlined the role of banks as the collectors of public funds and their deployment to society. He also explained how the evolution of the banking industry in the era of digitalisation and technology is driving a transformation of bank businesses to meet customers’ needs. In BRI, digitalisation through BRImo has driven transactions to Rp 32 trillion per day. Meanwhile, Nixon LP Napitupulu, President Director of PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) (BBTN) or BTN, conveyed the role of banks in expanding banking services to unbanked communities via the housing sector through the KPR Subsidi for Low Income (MBR) scheme, which offers low interest rates and low upfront payments. From BSI, Anggoro Eko Cahyo, President Director of PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BRIS), stated the role of Islamic banks in helping the advancement of MSMEs. The banking industry plays a role in determining the direction of economic growth, and Islamic banking takes on building an honest, transparent and sustainable economy. Meanwhile, Abu Santosa Sudradjat, Director of Treasury & International Banking at PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI), explained how national banks are expanding services abroad. BNI has 10 branches in eight countries, acting as a gateway for domestic businesses to advance their operations in international markets.
