Video: Bank Financing Schemes for Sustainability Projects
Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia — Ello Hanson, Executive Director, Head of Large Corporates and ESG Lead, IBG, at Bank DBS Indonesia, outlined solutions and recommendations to help sustainability projects secure bank financing.
Based on its research, titled “The Sustainability Shift: Indonesia’s Industrial Landscape in Five Key Sectors, Opportunities and Risks”, on the shift in Indonesia’s sustainability landscape from a compliance agenda towards economic resilience and business competitiveness, Bank DBS Indonesia says each project requires a different financing structure and approach.
Several financing schemes are therefore available for sustainable projects, including sustainability-linked financing, transition finance, blended finance and advisory services.
One example of Bank DBS Indonesia’s financing collaboration on a sustainability project is its work with TBS Energy to develop and diversify the company’s coal business through the acquisition of medical-waste companies and a regional waste platform, as well as the preparation of TBS Energy’s claimed transition plan.
