CNBC Indonesia hosted the Food Summit 2026 titled “Indonesia Food Safety Urgency: Towards a New Policy Framework,” aimed at fostering shared understanding, strengthening synergies among stakeholders, and formulating strategic recommendations to enhance the national food security and quality system.

Deputy for Systems and Governance of the National Nutrition Agency, Tigor Pangaribuan, at the Food Summit 2026, assured the agency’s steps in ensuring food safety within the free nutritious meal (MBG) programme through three aspects: strengthening governance via the Nutrition Fulfilment Service Unit (SPPG) standards, techniques for selecting food raw materials, and food processing procedures.

The National Nutrition Agency also ensures oversight of 27,000 SPPG units across Indonesia to guarantee safe food processing for the MBG programme.

Meanwhile, the Regent of Bandung Regency, Dadang Supriatna, outlined the local government’s strategy to support the MBG programme, with 1.235 million beneficiaries and 448 kitchens or SPPG units. The MBG implementation is district-based, with strengthened coordination with task forces and related institutions to address on-the-ground issues.

From the private sector, Corporate Affairs Director of Frisian Flag Indonesia, Andrew Saputro, affirmed the milk producer’s commitment to maintaining food safety in dairy products from upstream to downstream, including support for the MBG programme.

Frisian Flag empowers and partners with local farmers who are trained to ensure dairy products are processed and packaged with high quality, standards, and preserved nutrition.
