Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - The Chairman of the Indonesian Association of Entrepreneurs and Managers of Free Nutritious Meal Kitchens (APPMBGI), Abdul Rivai Ras, assures that efforts are being made to ensure that free nutritious meal kitchens meet nutritional standards so that food poisoning incidents do not recur.
APPMBGI notes that currently 52.2% of the free nutritious meal kitchens meet standardisation requirements. To accelerate compliance with these standards, APPMBGI is providing support. To prevent food poisoning, a concept will be developed for supplying raw materials that meet quality standards and pass quality control through cooperation between APPMBGI and the government, namely Bulog and Bappanas.
On the other hand, it is said that free nutritious meal kitchens have contributed 2% to GDP, and these kitchens have empowered local economies through various food transactions, although this sometimes causes shortages of certain food commodities. Therefore, APPMBGI encourages the kitchens to have their own supply chains so as not to disrupt stocks in the market.
