Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia - Pefindo’s Rating Director, Hendro Utomo, believes the prospects for corporate bond issuance remain fairly good in 2026, at around Rp 175 trillion, although this figure is not as strong as in 2025. Pefindo assesses that conventional bond issuance is still dominated by the banking sector, multifinance, and government institutions, while ESG-based thematic bonds are predominantly led by banks, government institutions with special mandates, and companies in the renewable energy sector. Meanwhile, corporate fundraising still faces challenges related to high global uncertainties, which cause an increase in bond yields/returns, potentially reducing issuers’ interest in issuing bonds; however, on the other hand, high maturing debt could create refinancing needs for issuers and investors.
