Victims yet to receive donation

MATARAM: Many of the total 6,000 victims of the recent earthquake in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, have not received donations, such as rice, instant noodles and medicine, from the government.

Provincial social affairs agency head Rustam Ali admitted on Monday that the contributions from the government had only distributed to victims in western Lombok.

"We have just distributed half a ton of rice in the area. We are still calculating the number of victims in the other areas," Ali said.

He claimed that the province had allocated 150 tons of rice, which would be distributed as soon as the calculation of the total victims was completed.

Besides affecting West Nusa Tenggara, the 6.1 Richter-scale quake also shook Bali on Friday.-JP
