Victims of Poso riots

The flaring of riots in Poso regency, Central Sulawesi, has
left 200 people dead and 3,000 houses as well as 80 places of
worship razed by fire. Three occasions of rioting in Poso have
inflicted losses estimated to total some Rp 100 billion.

Poso residents have to sustain not only material losses but
also the trauma of the riots. As a result, thousands of them have
sought refuge in a number of places of safety, such as Parigi,
Ampana, Palu, Morowali, Palopo and Tantena. Obviously, it is the
children, pregnant women and old people that are most vulnerable
to diseases and changes in the situation.

I am, therefore, calling on anybody who is concerned about the
suffering of these people to make a donation. Donations can be
