Victims of Eid Clothing Fraud on Verified Blue Tick Instagram Accounts Can Report to Trade Ministry
JAKARTA — Victims of online fraud involving the sale of Eid clothing can file complaints with the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag).
Trade Minister Budi Santoso stated that complaints can be submitted to the Directorate General of Consumer Protection and Business Order (Ditjen PTKN).
Budi made the statement when asked to respond to fraud cases involving the sale of Eid clothing using fraudulent verified Instagram accounts.
“Just go ahead and report it to the PTKN — we are indeed open to all complaints,” said Budi after inspecting food prices at Rawasari Market in Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta, on Monday, 16 March 2026.
He noted that the Ministry of Trade continues to monitor trading transactions among the public, including those conducted online.
The ministry is currently reviewing Ministerial Regulation on Trade (Permendag) No. 31 of 2023.
The regulation governs business licensing, advertising, guidance, and supervision of business operators in electronic commerce.
“We will review and evaluate it again in coordination with other government agencies and business operators,” Budi said.
According to reports, one of the fraudulent accounts investigated was named Bellvania.idn.
The account allegedly deceived consumers by directing social media users to external websites.
