Victims of Bekasi Timur Train Collision Assured Coverage, Compensation Reaches Rp 90 Million
PT Jasa Raharja has confirmed the state’s presence in providing protection for victims of the accident involving a KRL and the KA Argo Bromo Anggrek at Bekasi Timur Station. This was emphasised through a visit by Jasa Raharja’s President Director, Muhammad Awaluddin, to several hospitals where victims are being treated, coinciding with President Prabowo Subianto’s visit on Tuesday (28/4/2026). “The visit was conducted to RSUD Bekasi and RS Primaya Timur to ensure all victims receive optimal medical treatment and that the guarantee process runs quickly without administrative obstacles,” said Awaluddin. To date, Awaluddin stated, Jasa Raharja has coordinated with various parties, including hospitals, police, and railway operators, to expedite victim handling. He expressed deep sympathy for the accident. “We at Jasa Raharja extend our condolences for the accident that occurred. From the outset of the incident, we have coordinated to ensure the state is present in providing basic protection for the public who become victims,” Awaluddin added. He affirmed that all victims, whether deceased or injured, are guaranteed by Jasa Raharja in accordance with Law No. 33 of 1964. Awaluddin assured that all victims will receive basic protection guarantees. “For deceased victims, we will deliver the compensation as soon as possible. Currently, we are continuously coordinating with all relevant parties, including victims’ families, so that the process can run quickly and accurately,” he continued. Jasa Raharja, he added, has issued guarantee letters to eight hospitals handling the victims. Jasa Raharja is actively monitoring the development of victims’ conditions while ensuring the compensation administration process runs quickly and on target. “We continue to monitor developments in the field because there is still a possibility of additional victims being referred to other hospitals,” Awaluddin added. For deceased victims, Awaluddin continued, the basic compensation provided is Rp 50 million in accordance with the provisions. In addition, through its subsidiary Jasaraharja Putera, which collaborates with KAI, an additional compensation of Rp 40 million will be given. Meanwhile, for injured victims, Jasa Raharja guarantees hospital treatment costs up to a maximum of Rp 20 million in accordance with the provisions. Jasaraharja Putera also provides additional coverage up to Rp 30 million. “We also express thanks for the collaboration and synergy of all agencies that have helped accelerate victim handling. Our principle is that no victim should face delays in treatment,” said Awaluddin.
