Victim's Lawyer Not Surprised by Suspected Sexual Assault Perpetrator Against Female Pesantren Student Fleeing
Ali Yusron, the lawyer for the female pesantren student suspected to be a victim of molestation at Pondok Pesantren (Ponpes) Ndholo Kusumo in Pati Regency, Central Java, admitted that he had anticipated Ashari bin Karsana would flee. Ashari is the founder of Ponpes Ndholo Kusumo, who has been designated as a suspect in the alleged molestation case against several female students. Ali revealed that he received news of Ashari’s flight shortly after the Pati Police Resort designated him as a suspect on 28 April 2026. “When he was designated as a suspect, he fled,” he said during an interview on Wednesday (6/5/2026). Although he found the situation regrettable, Ali believes the police will soon apprehend Ashari. “I have faith in the law enforcement authorities; this case is one that has garnered attention. I believe he will be caught eventually,” he stated. According to Ali, to track Ashari’s whereabouts, the Pati Police Resort has examined his driver and family members. He is optimistic that Ashari will be apprehended in the near future. Ali stated that the arrest and detention of Ashari would encourage other suspected victims of sexual violence to speak out or report the incidents. “There are many victims in this case. Once the suspect is caught and imprisoned, many more will come forward to report,” he said. He added that there are currently suspected victims who are unwilling to reveal Ashari’s acts of sexual violence. “They are afraid,” Ali remarked. Therefore, he is awaiting Ashari’s arrest and detention.
