JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The rape case in Jambi involving C (18) has entered a new phase. The case has attracted the attention of advocate Hotman Paris, who is urging that it be thoroughly investigated. The planned action is to report the three police officers, VI, MIS, and HAM, to national police headquarters. Currently, the three officers have only been given ethical sanctions, despite being suspected of having roles in the incident. “Let this matter be clear and transparent—who did what and what their roles were,” said the victim’s legal representative, Romiyanto. The victim claims she first met one of the perpetrators in September 2025 while at church. At that time, the perpetrator is said to have forced an introduction and invited her to take a photo together, but the victim refused. “He came with his friends, all trying to introduce themselves, then I told them my name, and he invited me to take a photo together, but I refused there,” said C. After that, the perpetrator again offered to take the victim and her friend home, even inviting her to eat. However, the invitation was also rejected by the victim. The victim emphasised that after that meeting, there was no further relationship beyond occasional messaging. She also rejected the perpetrator’s invitations again. Nevertheless, the perpetrator continued to contact the victim until he came to pick her up around midnight. In a press conference, the family stated that the victim did not suspect anything because one of the perpetrators had a clan relation considered as an “uncle” by the victim’s mother’s side. The incident began when she was picked up by one of the perpetrators from her friend’s house on the night of 13 November 2025.
