Vice 'restaurant' busted in KL
KUALA LUMPUR (DPA): Police in the Malaysian capital busted a
"restaurant" run by pimps which offered foreign prostitutes on
the menu instead of regular meals, a news report said on Tuesday.
The Malay Mail afternoon tabloid said the pimps had opened the
Fire Phoenix restaurant in the working class district of Cheras
as a front for a brothel, in an attempt to fool anti-vice squads.
But its cover was blown following a tip-off and police raided the
fake restaurant early Sunday and arrested 41 people, including
eight foreign prostitutes.
Five of the sex workers were Indonesians, two were from
Uzbekistan and one was Thai. All were aged between 18 years and
25 years.
Police also arrested 26 clients and seven workers of the
brothel, which occupied two floors of a four-floor shop which had
a bar, karaoke lounge and four bedrooms.
