Vice Regent of Lebak Sees Off 365 Prospective Pilgrims
Lebak (ANTARA) - The Vice Regent of Lebak, Amir Hamzah, saw off 365 prospective pilgrims from the region, who are part of the 22nd flight group, as they departed for Mecca.
“We ask the prospective pilgrims to take care of their health, especially the elderly, because performing the hajj requires excellent physical condition,” he said in front of the prospective pilgrims at the Lebak Regency Government Building in Rangkasbitung, Banten Province, on Sunday.
The preparations for their departure from Lebak Regency for the hajj have been running smoothly. Previously, the 17th flight group, consisting of 391 people, had already departed for Mecca.
Currently, there are 365 prospective pilgrims in the 22nd flight group who are ready to depart to perform the hajj.
The local government prays that they can complete all the rituals while in Mecca smoothly, with good health, safety, and strength until they return home with the title of ‘hajj mabrur’ (pilgrims who have performed the hajj perfectly).
Amir also asked the pilgrims to maintain solidarity while in Mecca and remain disciplined in following the instructions of the accompanying officers.
He added that the pilgrims should also foster a sense of community by helping each other and prioritizing assistance for elderly pilgrims.
He explained that performing the hajj is not only a physical journey but also requires patience, sincerity, and mental strength.
“We ask the pilgrims to perform the pilgrimage with sincere intentions, obey the instructions of officers and guides, and take care of their health while in Mecca,” he said.
The Head of the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah Office for Lebak Regency, Halimatussa’diah, said that the hajj implementation has been running smoothly so far.
She asked the pilgrims in Mecca to pray for leaders and members of society so that they can carry out their duties for the progress of the region.
“We hope that all the prospective pilgrims who are departing will have a smooth, safe, and healthy journey so that they can return home,” she said.
