Vice President to Add Japanese Language Teachers for Vocational Migrant Classes in Lampung

Bandarlampung (ANTARA) - Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Gibran Rakabuming Raka will help increase the number of Japanese language teachers for the Vocational Migrant Class Programme in Lampung Province.

“Vice President wants to help send Japanese language teachers from the centre to Lampung. As soon as possible, this is currently being coordinated. Earlier, the Japan Foundation was present, and the Director of the Japan Foundation also came,” said the Head of the Lampung Provincial Education Office, Thomas Amirico, after the Vice President’s visit to SMKN 4 Bandarlampung on Friday.

According to him, adding Japanese language teachers is very important for students.

“In addition, with the addition of Japanese language teachers from the centre, this will accelerate the realisation of this programme,” he said.

Furthermore, Thomas continued, Vice President Gibran also wants to help ensure that the Japanese language competency exam can be held in Lampung Province, thereby helping to save costs.

He also revealed that the vocational migrant class has 620 students who are deemed ready to take the Japanese language proficiency exam at level N4.

“From the initial total of 8,500 participants, the screening process has now narrowed down to around 620 people who are deemed ready to take the Japanese language proficiency exam at level N4,” he said.

Participants who pass will then undergo language enhancement and Japanese cultural learning for three months before being sent abroad.

“The steps are enhancement, then how about culture, learning culture for the next three months so that when they depart, they are truly ready,” he said.
