Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has urged the strengthening of synergy between the government and female business actors to drive national economic growth, particularly in the micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (MSME) sector.

This was conveyed by the Vice President during an audience with the Indonesian Muslim Women’s Entrepreneurs Association (IPEMI) at the Vice Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday.

According to an official statement, the Vice President emphasised the importance of optimising various programmes and stimuli prepared by the central government to support MSME actors, and encouraged IPEMI to play a strategic role in reaching and accelerating the utilisation of these programmes down to the regional level.

“The input from the Vice President is for us to continue working together with the government, and we are always ready and support the policies and programmes from Mr Prabowo and Mr Gibran’s cabinet,” said IPEMI General Chairperson Ingrid Kansil in her statement following the audience with the Vice President.

Ingrid continued, “We are also ready to become an organisation that can distribute programmes from all the ministries in Mr Prabowo and Mr Gibran’s cabinet because we are already present throughout Indonesia, even down to the sub-district and village levels.”

In addition to strengthening programmes, the Vice President also highlighted the importance of marketing support for MSME actors. According to the Vice President, the government continues to strive to provide more inclusive facilities that are not burdensome, so that local products can more easily access markets and have strong competitiveness.

“He will also, Insya Allah, endeavour from the side of marketing facilities and infrastructure that do not burden MSME actors to display their products,” said Ingrid.

Through this meeting, it is hoped that collaboration between the government and IPEMI can further expand the reach of MSME empowerment, especially for female entrepreneurs.

Thus, the contribution of this sector to inclusive and sustainable economic growth can continue to increase.

“We are also ready to become partners of the government, and of course, I am very grateful because the Vice President welcomes the presence and existence of IPEMI throughout Indonesia and abroad,” said Ingrid.
