Vice President Ma'ruf Amin and JK Lead Funeral Prayer for Former Vice President Try Sutrisno at Sunda Kelapa Mosque

Vice President Ma’ruf Amin and former Vice President Jusuf Kalla attended Masjid Agung Sunda Kelapa in Jakarta to lead funeral prayers for former Vice President Try Sutrisno.

Try Sutrisno, Indonesia’s sixth Vice President, passed away at RSPAD Gatot Soebroto Hospital in Central Jakarta on Monday morning, 2 March 2026, at approximately 06:58 Western Indonesia Time.

Alongside Jusuf Kalla and Ma’ruf Amin, several cabinet ministers from the Red and White Cabinet attended the funeral prayers. These included Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Bahlil Lahadalia, Head of Bappenas Rachmat Pambudy, and State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi.

Other notable figures also attended the condolences at Masjid Agung Sunda Kelapa, including PDI Perjuangan (PDIP) Secretary-General Hasto Kristiyanto, PDIP Central Executive Board Chairman Djarot Saiful Hidayat, and Indonesian Parliament (MPR) Chairman Ahmad Muzani.

Former RSPAD Commander Lieutenant General (Retired) Albertus Budi Sulistya confirmed the passing when contacted on Monday, 2 March 2026.

The deceased’s body was subsequently transported to a funeral home at Purwakarta Street Number 6, Menteng, Central Jakarta.
