Vice President Gibran's Week-Long Working Visit Marathon to NTT, Gorontalo, and Papua
Vice President Gibrand Rakabuming is continuing his series of working visits today, Friday (19/6), in Gorontalo, with an agenda to open the 17th National Farmers and Fishermen Week (PENAS) 2026 and inspect the Bulango Ulu Dam.
Gibran arrived in Gorontalo on Friday afternoon at approximately 11:25 WITA at Djalaluddin Airport. The Vice President was welcomed with a traditional Gorontalo ceremony followed by prayers.
As part of today’s visit, Vice President Gibran is scheduled to visit the Bulango Ulu Dam in Bone Bolango Regency, which is currently under construction. The construction progress has now reached 94.99 per cent, and the dam is categorised as a National Strategic Project.
Vice President Gibran is also planned to attend PENAS XVII 2026 in Gorontalo Regency, which will run from 20 to 25 June 2026. The event serves as a meeting forum for approximately 30,000 participants, including farmers, fishermen, and extension officers from across the archipelago.
PENAS XVII adopts the theme “Technological Transformation in Supporting Food Self-Sufficiency Programmes to Realise Indonesia as a Global Food Barn by 2045”.
Previously, on Thursday (18/6), Vice President Gibran visited East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) to observe the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme at two locations in Ende Regency. The visit to NTT marks the beginning of a series of regional inspections scheduled from 18 to 21 June 2026.
Following Gorontalo, Gibran is scheduled to continue his visit to West Papua, with an agenda to inspect the Ransiki Cocoa Production Centre in South Manokwari Regency and to open the 14th National Church Choir Festival (Pesparawi) in Manokwari.
On the final day of the working visit, the Vice President will proceed to South Papua via Asmat Regency to inspect several public facilities, including the Asmat Museum of Culture and Progress, the Sago Field School, Agats Regional General Hospital, and the Holy Cross Cathedral.
