Vice President Gibran Visits Students Affected by Free Nutritious Meal Programme in Karo
Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka visited students at SMAN 1 Kabanjahe, Karo Regency, North Sumatra, on Friday morning to personally inspect the condition of those allegedly experiencing health problems following the consumption of the Free Nutritious Meal (MBG) programme menu.
The visit took place at Efarina Etaham Hospital in Berastagi, Karo Regency, North Sumatra. During the visit, the Vice President met with students being treated at Efarina Etaham Hospital before proceeding to visit other students receiving care at Amanda Hospital.
Accompanying the Vice President were the Governor of North Sumatra, Bobby Nasution, and the Regent of Karo, Antonius Ginting. The Vice President’s arrival was met with strict security from joint TNI and Polri personnel, who were stationed around the hospital to ensure the visit proceeded smoothly and safely.
Hospital officials stated that all patients are receiving the necessary medical treatment and their conditions are being closely monitored. “We will ensure that everyone receives the best possible care. Families need not worry; the government will continue to monitor the health progress of these students,” said Vice President Gibran during a brief dialogue during his visit.
Meanwhile, Governor Bobby Nasution stated that the North Sumatra Provincial Government fully supports the efforts for medical treatment as well as strict supervision regarding the distribution and food quality of the MBG programme in the region. Regent Antonius Ginting also committed to investigating the cause of this incident alongside relevant agencies to prevent similar occurrences in the future.
