Vice President Gibran Visits Habib Ali Alhabsyi in Kwitang

Vice President Gibran Rakabuming visited Habib Ali Alhabsyi at the Al Habib Ali Al Habsyi Islamic Centre, located at Jalan Kembang Raya No. 79, Kwitang, Central Jakarta, on Thursday, 12 March 2026.

The Vice President’s Secretariat reported that the courtesy visit with Islamic scholars and community leaders aimed to maintain closeness between the government and the public, particularly during Ramadan, a month rich with values of togetherness. This activity aligns with President Prabowo Subianto’s directive to nurture harmony with religious leaders across various regions.

Following the meeting, Gibran walked to the Riyadh Mosque to pay respects at the tomb of Mohammad bin Ali bin Abdurrahman Alhabsyi alongside his family.

During the same visit, Gibran also greeted residents of Kwitang Subdistrict and oversaw the distribution of food aid packages to the local community. Approximately 200 residents received assistance packages from the Office of the Vice President.

According to the Vice President’s Secretariat, several residents attempted to approach Gibran to shake hands and greet him before joining the queue for food aid distribution.

This visit formed part of the Vice President’s Ramadan activities to strengthen community bonds and ensure the government’s presence among the public, particularly in the lead-up to Eid al-Fitr celebrations.
