Jakarta (ANTARA) - Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Gibran Rakabuming Raka has urged players in the creative industry to strengthen strategic collaboration in the creative economy sector, or ekraf, while receiving the leadership of lifestyle content media The Maple Media at the Vice Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Thursday.

“The discussion earlier with the Vice President focused more on the creative economy in particular, where our group can support the creative economy in general and approximately from the government side how it can support it,” said CEO of Redwoods Digital Growth Group (RWDGG), the parent company of the creative economy investment firm that oversees Maple Media, Deddy Wiryawan, in a written statement quoted from the Press, Media, and Information Bureau of the Vice Presidential Secretariat.

This meeting is an implementation of the government’s policy direction under the leadership of President Prabowo Subianto, which currently focuses on strengthening national economic development based on innovation and added value.

On that occasion, the Vice President emphasised that synergy between the government and industry players is crucial. This aims to create a more adaptive and innovative business ecosystem amid increasingly tight global competition.

The Vice President hopes that such collaboration can accelerate the growth of the creative economy sector in the country.

This sector is projected to become one of the main pillars in supporting the national economy on a sustainable basis.

Deddy Wiryawan explained that the principle of cooperation is the main key for industry players at present.

He emphasised the importance of that synergy by adopting a popular slogan among creative practitioners.

“The point is collaboration or like the jargon we usually do in the industry and every time we talk about it, it is collab so as not to collapse,” added Deddy.

The RWDGG side also conveyed their commitment to supporting this ecosystem through various business approaches.

They plan to strengthen the capacity of business players through venture building schemes, incubation, to direct investment in the media sector.

Concrete steps forward will focus on strengthening inter-industry cooperation while still prioritising the main topic of the creative economy.

The Maple Media side will continue to monitor market movements to determine the most effective form of collaboration.

“From there, we will see the movement and approximately what the concrete collaboration can be like,” said Deddy.
