Vice President Gibran to Perform Eid Prayer with President Prabowo in Jakarta Before Returning to Solo

Jakarta — Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka announced plans to celebrate Eid al-Fitr in his hometown of Solo, Central Java. When asked about the location during a farewell ceremony for participants of the Danareksa BUMN Holding Joint Mudik (homecoming) 2026 at the Danareksa office in Jakarta on Tuesday, 17 March 2026, Gibran stated: “In Solo, in Solo.”

However, Gibran indicated he would first perform the Eid prayer with President Prabowo Subianto in Jakarta. When asked whether he would head directly to Solo on the first or second day of Eid, Gibran said he would participate in the traditional Eid gatherings in Jakarta first.

“Certainly, I’ll do the halalbihalal first with the senior officials in Jakarta,” he said.

Following the gatherings, Gibran plans to continue to Yogyakarta before heading to Solo.

“I’m leaving for Yogyakarta tomorrow,” Gibran stated.

This programme forms part of efforts to facilitate the public in conducting their homecoming journeys safely and comfortably ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
