Vice President Gibran to Perform Eid al-Fitr Prayer at Istiqlal Mosque Tomorrow

Vice President (Wapres) Gibran Rakabuming Raka will perform the Eid al-Fitr 1447 H prayer at Istiqlal Mosque tomorrow. Several high-ranking state officials will also conduct Eid prayers at Istiqlal.

“But certainly tomorrow, insyaallah, the Vice President along with high-ranking state officials, many of whom will perform prayers here,” said Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar at Istiqlal Mosque, Central Jakarta, on Friday (20/3/2026).

Nasaruddin admitted he does not yet know whether President Prabowo will also perform Eid prayers at Istiqlal or in Banda Aceh. He stated that his side is ready to accompany Prabowo in accordance with the directives given.

“We are still awaiting the final directive, whether in Banda Aceh or elsewhere; I have not received the final directive yet. But we are on standby here as assistants, on standby wherever the President provides directives,” said Nasaruddin.

“We’ll see the developments tomorrow,” added Nasaruddin when asked whether Prabowo would perform Eid prayers at Istiqlal.

For information, the Eid al-Fitr 1447 H prayer at Istiqlal Mosque will begin at 07:00 WIB. The khatib on duty is Rector of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, Prof Noorhadi Hasan, with the theme ‘The Victory of Eid al-Fitr Sowing Goodness, Achieving Blessings’.

The officials for the Eid al-Fitr 1447 H prayer at Istiqlal Mosque include Ahmad Husni Ismail acting as imam and Ahmad Rofiuddin Mahfudz as Badal Imam. The public is urged to arrive early if they wish to join the Eid prayer at Istiqlal Mosque.
