Vice President Gibran to Attend Chinese New Year Celebration Peak at Banteng Field, Central Jakarta Today
The peak celebration of Chinese New Year 2026 will be held at Banteng Field, Central Jakarta, this afternoon. Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka is scheduled to attend the event.
“The attendee planned is the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia,” said Head of Operations at the Jakarta Metro Traffic Police, Kompol Robby Hefados, to journalists on Saturday, 28 February 2026.
Robby stated that six car parks capable of accommodating 1,000 vehicles have been prepared for the event. He said participants in the National Chinese New Year celebration will conduct a procession parade starting from in front of Cathedral Church.
“We also need to inform that this afternoon a procession parade will be held by the public or National Chinese New Year participants, beginning from in front of the Cathedral, then heading towards the Adipura Monument, then turning right towards the Ministry building,” said Robby.
“And continuing to the Post Office, then from the Post Office to Jalan Lapangan Banteng Utara, then turning left entering through the West Banteng Field entrance,” he added.
Furthermore, Robby stated that temporary traffic diversions will be implemented as the procession passes through. Subsequently, routes will be normalised after the procession has passed.
“We are also working to ensure the procession does not disrupt traffic flow; if it does cause disruption, we will assist in facilitating or temporarily diverting traffic, and once the procession has passed, we will normalise the routes,” he said.
