JAKARTA — Vice President Gibran Rakabuming officially launched the Mudik Bersama (Joint Homecoming) programme of Danareksa BUMN Holding on Tuesday, 17 March 2026, in Jakarta.

The activity forms part of the government’s efforts to facilitate safe, comfortable, and coordinated homecoming travel. Gibran presented symbolic gift packages to participating travellers’ representatives and greeted passengers aboard the buses.

“We pray that all these homecoming participants travel smoothly to their destinations, send our greetings to families in the villages, may all be blessed,” he said.

“Those travelling with children, please be careful, make sure you have eaten before departing. Rest at service areas,” he added.

Gibran mentioned that he would travel to Solo for the Eid prayers alongside President Prabowo Subianto, followed by the traditional halal bihalal celebrations.

PT Danareksa (Persero) President Director Yadi Jaya Ruchandi explained that this programme represents BUMN’s commitment to supporting public mobility. The programme also provides a safer and more affordable travel alternative.

The programme encompasses 1,900 participants from 475 heads of household across the Jabodetabek region. Departures also took place simultaneously from Medan, Semarang, Surabaya, and Makassar.

“Participants consist of workers and traders at approximately 50 per cent and the general public such as students and housewives at approximately 80 per cent,” he said.

The organising committee prepared 39 bus fleets to transport homecoming travellers to various destination cities. Destinations include Solo, Yogyakarta, Surabaya, and Bandung on Java Island, as well as Padang Sidempuan in Sumatra and Sidrap and Bone in Sulawesi.

Fourteen buses were dispatched from Jakarta, heading to 10 cities across Central Java, including Brebes, Cirebon, Tegal, Pemalang, Purwokerto, Kebumen, Semarang, Purworejo, Solo, and Yogyakarta.

“Through this programme, the government together with BUMN hopes to help the public undertake orderly, safe, and comfortable homecoming travel, whilst strengthening togetherness in welcoming the Eid celebration with family in their home villages,” Yadi concluded.
