Vice President Gibran Scheduled to Perform Eid Prayer at Istiqlal

JAKARTA - Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka is scheduled to perform Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah prayers at Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta, on Saturday (21/3/2026).

“Tomorrow, insyaallah here, the vice president along with many high-ranking state officials will perform prayers here,” said Religious Affairs Minister Nasaruddin Umar at Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta, on Friday (20/3/2026).

“We are still awaiting the final directive on whether it will be in Banda Aceh or elsewhere; I have not yet received the final directive,” he added.

He emphasised that his office remains prepared to provide support wherever the President will perform the Eid prayers.

“We are on standby wherever it may be to provide guidance,” he continued.

Nasaruddin added that Istiqlal Mosque is expected to be filled with worshippers, including guests arriving to perform the Eid prayers.

“We hope many guests will come to Istiqlal. For that reason, we ask everyone to prepare themselves well, to come to Istiqlal Mosque with full sincerity and devotion to bid farewell to the holy month of Ramadan,” he stated.
