Jakarta — Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka has reminded the public undertaking homecoming journeys to remain vigilant on the road and maintain their health and safety whilst travelling to their hometowns.

“To all those embarking on homecoming journeys, please be careful on the road and continue to safeguard your health and safety,” said Gibran in a statement uploaded to the YouTube channel of the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Sunday.

The Vice President noted that the public has entered the mudik season, a long-anticipated time for migrant workers and city residents to return home and gather with their families in their home regions.

Gibran expressed hope that the opportunity to reunite with family and relatives in their hometowns would bring warmth and happiness to those celebrating.

“May this moment of gathering with family and relatives in our hometowns bring warmth and happiness,” he said.

The Vice President also extended his gratitude and appreciation to the entire contingent of the military, national police, civil servants, media personnel, and various other parties who have remained dedicated to their duties during this period in accordance with the direction of President Prabowo Subianto.

On this occasion, Gibran also expressed hope that the celebrations of Nyepi Day and Eid al-Fitr, which fall close together this year, would serve as an opportunity to strengthen brotherhood and reinforce national unity among the people as members of one nation and homeland.

“I hope the celebrations of Nyepi and Eid al-Fitr this year become an important moment for all of us to strengthen our brotherhood and reinforce our unity as one people, one nation, and one homeland,” he said.

He extended congratulations on Nyepi Day of Saka Year 1948 to Hindu communities throughout Indonesia. Gibran expressed hope that the silence of Nyepi would bring peace, wisdom, and renewed spirit to the public in building Indonesia.

Additionally, the Vice President also extended congratulations on Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri to Muslim communities in Indonesia, coupled with the hope that God’s mercy and protection shall continue to be bestowed upon the nation of Indonesia.
