Vice President Gibran Rakabuming accompanies President Prabowo Subianto in presenting the Macroeconomic Framework and Core Fiscal Policy (KEM-PPKF) for the 2027 RAPBN
Jakarta (ANTARA) — Vice President Gibran Rakabuming accompanied President Prabowo Subianto in the 19th Plenary Meeting of the Indonesian DPR RI for the Fifth Session of the 2025-2026 Year, held at the Nusantara Building, Parliament Complex, Jakarta on Wednesday.
According to a statement from the Vice President’s Secretariat received in Jakarta on Wednesday, Vice President Gibran accompanied the President of the Republic of Indonesia to deliver an introductory speech on the Macroeconomic Framework and Core Fiscal Policy (KEM-PPKF) as part of the preparation of the State Budget Draft (RAPBN) for the 2027 Fiscal Year.
In his address, the Head of State outlined the direction of the government’s economic and fiscal policy that will form the basis for the initial discussions of RAPBN 2027.
The delivery also coincided with the anniversary of National Awakening Day, emphasising the importance of unity and optimism in strengthening the national economy.
The President stated that the APBN is not merely a state financial instrument, but a tool of the nation’s struggle to protect the people, to reinforce the foundations of the national economy, and to realise the welfare of society as mandated in the 1945 Constitution of the Republic of Indonesia.
‘APBN is the embodiment of our tool of struggle as a nation. APBN is a tool to protect the people. A tool to strengthen the foundations and pillars of the nation’s economy. A tool to ensure every citizen can live more prosperously, and as a guide for our journey ahead. With that awareness, we draft the APBN as a form of collective commitment to realise the noble ideals mandated in our Constitution, the 1945 Constitution,’ Prabowo said.
Furthermore, the President stressed the importance of the direct presence of the Head of State in conveying the direction of national economic policy and the management of state finances. This is deemed essential to provide a comprehensive picture of the government’s strategic steps in facing various dynamics and global challenges that also affect the national situation today.
‘Therefore, given the conditions we face like this, I believe the President of the Republic of Indonesia should be present to directly convey the essentials of thoughts on the economy and state management,’ he explained.
The President also emphasised the government’s commitment to maintaining the continuity of national development through targeted, effective fiscal policy aimed at achieving development goals, including strengthening food security, improving the quality of education and health services, and empowering the community’s economy.
Also attending were the heads of state institutions, ministers and deputy ministers of the Red and White Cabinet, the general secretaries of political parties, and leaders of civil society organisations and other heads of state institutions.
