Vice President Gibran Performs Eid Prayer at Istiqlal, President Prabowo in Aceh

Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, performed Eid al-Fitr prayers for 1 Syawal 1446 Hijriah at Istiqlal Mosque, Jakarta, on Saturday (21/3/2026). Accompanied by his son, Jan Ethes, the Vice President arrived at the location at 06:47 WIB.

This year’s Eid prayer ceremony at Istiqlal Mosque adopted the theme “The Victory of Eid al-Fitr Sows Goodness, Attains Blessings”.

Unlike the Vice President, President Prabowo Subianto was observed celebrating Lebaran in the Sumatra region. After spending the takbiran night in North Sumatra on Friday (20/3) evening, the President is scheduled to perform Eid al-Fitr prayers in Aceh on Saturday morning.

Although the President is outside Jakarta, the Presidential Palace is assured to remain open to the public through halal bihalal activities. Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya stated that this silaturahmi agenda will be held on Saturday afternoon.

“If at the Palace, in the afternoon, we are preparing halal bihalal, silaturahmi for all members of the public who wish to visit,” said Teddy in Medan, North Sumatra, on Friday (20/3).

The event is planned to run until the evening with a capacity of around 5,000 people. The Palace side will regulate the flow of visitors in shifts to maintain order.
