Vice President Gibran Inspects Free Nutritious Meals Programme in Papua, Here's What's on the Menu
Vice President Gibran Rakabuming inspected the implementation of the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) programme at several schools in Papua, from Mimika Regency to Yahukimo Regency. The visit coincided with Kartini Day, celebrated by students at SMAN 4 Mimika who wore traditional attire. They received the MBG meals distributed around 9:30 a.m. The Head of the Nutrition Services Fulfilment Unit (SPPG) for Mimika Baru, Tiarma Purba, revealed that the budget for one portion of MBG in the area is Rp14,000 per person. Currently, 2,162 children are beneficiaries of the MBG in Mimika Baru. From Mimika, Vice President Gibran continued his working visit to Yahukimo Regency in the Highlands Papua Province. Despite being in the mountainous region of Papua, the MBG has reached the Dekai Yahukimo Christian School. In addition to checking the MBG, the Vice President also aimed to ensure equitable access and quality of education in eastern Indonesia.
