Vice President Gibran Hopes Harmony and Tolerance Will Be Maintained as Nation Marks Lunar New Year
Jakarta, VIVA – Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Raka expressed his appreciation to the entire Confucian community for their contributions to strengthening national unity and development.
The Vice President conveyed his message in a Lunar New Year 2577 Kongzili greeting issued through the Vice Presidential Secretariat on Tuesday, 17 February 2026.
"I also appreciate the contributions of the Confucian community in maintaining harmony, strengthening tolerance, and national unity," Gibran said, as quoted by ANTARA.
Gibran noted that the active role of the Confucian community in preserving harmony and fostering a spirit of tolerance has become an important part of efforts to nurture the nation's diversity.
He assessed that these contributions also support the social stability needed to drive national progress.
The Vice President said that with unity and tolerance continuously upheld by all elements of society, the shared aspiration of realising a prosperous, secure, and thriving Indonesia can be achieved together.
"Hopefully, with unity, harmony, and tolerance continuously maintained, we can realise a prosperous, secure, and thriving Indonesia together," he said.
Gibran also extended his congratulations to those celebrating this year's Lunar New Year and expressed his hope that they would be blessed with good health and prosperity.
"I wish you a happy Lunar New Year 2577 Kongzili, Gong Xi Fat Cai. May all of you be blessed with abundance, good health, and prosperity," he said.
For the Confucian community, the 2026 Lunar New Year marks the Year of the Fire Horse, which carries a message of courage, high spirits, and the impetus to move forward with optimism.
